Ingredients

  • 1 Package Ore-Ida® Steam n' Mash Cut Russet Potatoes
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 4 Shallots, finely chopped
  • 4 Cloves Garlic Cloves Minced
  • 2/3 Cup Milk
  • 3 Tablespoons Sour Cream
  • 2 Tablespoons Romano Cheese Grated
  • 1/8 Teaspoon Nutmeg
  • Salt and Pepper

Directions

  1. Microwave Potatoes according to package instructions.
  2. Meanwhile, melt butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Cook shallots and garlic for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together hot Potatoes, milk and sour cream, and mash with a potato masher until smooth. For a smoother consistency, mix with an electric mixer to desired consistency. Stir in cheese and nutmeg, and mix well. Season with salt and pepper to taste if desired. Garnish with chopped green onion if desired.

Tip

  • If desired, substitute grated Romano cheese with grated Parmesan cheese.
